As a tax payer I feel that my hard earned dollars should not go to supporting a vicious monopoly such as that of West Publishing. The public owns the law, and should have the right to analize it free of charge, or at least at a nominal charge. The fact that West has tried to "lobby" the Supreme Court justices to keep the system intact makes me sick. West maintains that they own the indexing scheme. That indexing scheme relies on page numbers. Come on! Indexing by page number is inefficient. I encourage you to adopt a new system in which court opinions are distributed cheaply, openly, and in manner that does not cause companies in the private sector to profit handsomely at the expense of tax payers. By doing this, you would be serving the American public and removing a double standard that exists in the US Justice system. Thank you and good luck.
