Subject: ABA Resolution on Citations Date: Wed, 12 Mar 1997 14:53:28 -0800 (PST) From: Paul Mollica To: Administrative Office of the United States Courts To the Administrative Office: The Federal Courts Committee of the Chicago Council of Lawyers writes to comment on the February 20, 1997 letter requesting public input on the "ABA Resolution on Citations." Our organization includes hundreds of practitioners, government attorneys, academics and others interested in the administration of justice. Our Committee enthusiastically supports the ABA resolution and urges that it be adopted for the federal courts. We hope that this citation format will bring an end to the chaos of competing publishers and services and will level the field for attorneys who chose to rely on computer-assisted research. It will also facilitate the use of the U.S. Courts of Appeals' bulletin boards, making those opinions more easily cited. Thank you for your consideration. Paul W. Mollica, Chair, Federal Courts Committee, Chicago Council of Lawyers, 220 South State Street, Suite 800, Chicago, Illinois 60604, (312) 427-0713.
